FAIXA AZUL/BLUE BELT
One of the things I was most excited about when finding out I was moving back to OC was being able to train at AOJ again. It was literally one of my goals to get promoted by the end of the year. I’m glad to have something in my life that I both suck at and respect because it gets me excited to put in the work to improve just a little bit each day. These are baby steps, but steps in the right direction. #whitebeltforever ————————————————————————
Special thanks to @wearejackie for sparking my interest in bjj as well as the @mendesbros for being champs both on and off the mats. Also, thank you to @gustavofonseca108@dannystolfi@nickbohli and @iandelizo for your patience and support as coaches - and now professors - through this first leg of the journey.
Top AOJ Athlete, Brad Johnston:
My experience with Coach PJ has been great. Whenever I’m there I’m always being pushed by someone who is very knowledgeable especially toward my specific goals in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I also really like the encouragement that Coach PJ gives to all of us to push us through our tough workouts. I’ve noticed huge improvements in strength, speed, explosiveness, & overall confidence when it comes to my performance in BJJ.
I like how Coach PJ is very patient when it comes to his teaching approach, and I like the professionalism he shows while coaching his athletes. At most other fitness focused “strength and conditioning places” I’ve been to in the past weren’t experienced or knowledgeable enough to fit the needs of a combat athlete.
in jiu jitsu the journey starts with self. you learn, you fight, you lose, you win. you push yourself further and challenge yourself to do more and you give yourself to what you're doing. you tend to feel it's you versus what's in front of you. but the journey was never solo. jiu jitsu takes others. || the people I've met and gotten to know have changed my life. it didn't matter where you came from or where you've been, when you came in through the doors and stepped on the mat, we shared the journey. || thank you to everyone I have shared this journey with || thank you to the Professors @mendesbros I am grateful and honored || the journey continues… @artofjiujitsu#aoj#aojfamily#blackbelt
