Did you know, February is American Heart Month?! In honor of #heartmonth ❤️, and #valentinesday 💝 being this past week, I decided to make #heartshaped pancakes 🥞 this weekend! To make these #hearthealthy#pancakes , I combined 1 cup of @bobsredmill#paleo#grainfree pancake mix, 2 #organic eggs, 1/4 cup water, 1 T #evoo (extra virgin olive oil, a great source of #hearthealthyfats ) , 1 mashed #banana 🍌, and 2 tsp of @lovebeets 100% #beetroot powder (which I recently discovered at Wegman’s and CANNOT wait to experiment more with!) to naturally give my pancakes a pink/reddish hue (no artificial colors or dyes needed here). In addition to its natural food coloring, I also chose #beet powder to obtain the ❤️ healthy properties of beets. Beets are a great source of dietary nitrates, which get naturally converted in the body to nitric oxide, which helps relax and widen blood vessels to support a healthy circulatory system and a healthy ❤️.
