Life has a funny way of revealing things to you at the most random places + time (when you put in the work). I had been longing for balance + consistency in all aspects of my life and oddly enough...I found it through fitness. I believe that everything you do is connected in this web + ebb and flow of life. And there's so much to be learned if you're open.
Around this time 2 years ago...I was adulting really hard + going through personal + family stuff. Work had consumed me. I was slightly depressed + had gained over 25 lbs + didn't recognize the person in the mirror.
That Christmas, Dave and I decided to gift ourselves with gym memberships and it was THE BEST investment we could've made. And that's when the healing process began + how I began to connect the dots...by looking inward + making a commitment to take better care of myself. ♡
I'm sharing this because fitness has played such an integral part in re-shaping my personal + work life. If you're struggling or going through it right now just know that you have the power to change your circumstances. Start with you. Start by doing one positive thing for yourself + commit to one goal. Just one. Overtime, you'll notice other aspects of your life magically starting to fit together like a puzzle piece.
I started out my fitness/weightless journey (again for the millionth time) simply just wanting to feel better + get back to my old self. But I gained so much more! I gained muscles + strength. I gained a new mindset + I'm a happier human (even though I'm a few pounds heavier + still working on my fitness goals). :P Most importantly, I finally gained the balance I so needed in my work + personal life.
So, wherever you are in your (fitness) journey today, just start + pick back up again. It will be hard + challenging. But trust in yourself and stick with it. The outcome is so rewarding. Remember that this is YOUR journey...it's not a race...and to be patient + kind to yourself in the process. ♡
