Failure can be the best experience for a second try (if you are a stubborn bloke). Today it was the first time I used my Olympus Mons and crampons since Everest C2. Really odd with almost 1,6 kg on each foot. Good Sunday mountaineering workout.
So many feelings and memories associated with my souvenir from Nepal. The wonderful people, the amazing nature, the tent at Camp II / Everest, the helicopter evacuation, the hospital and the respiratory medication... such a mix. If I want to go back? Hell yeah!
Getting back to crampon point after returning from the summit of Mount Everest on the 17th May this year.
I had given it everything over the last 6 days, exhaustion was clawing at my body but looking back at this video I think the realisation of what @mountexpeds and I had just achieved was beginning to sink it... Also the realisation that we were 20 mins from Advanced basecamp where there would be tea, biscuits friends and a cosy, safe tent to collapse in. *Turn sound dowwwwn, it’s pretty windy at 6,400m!
