Last Sunday, God sent a beautiful message. To have peace, I must forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in me. Matthew 6:14-15 reads, “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” I realized that I have held on to grudges far too long. Like a hot air balloon, it became difficult for me to rise higher because I did not want to let go of my emotional baggages.
I thought that to forgive, I needed an apology. Maya Angelou once said that, “if we all hold on to the mistake, we can’t see our own glory in the mirror because we have the mistake between our faces and the mirror; we can’t see what we’re capable of being. You can ask forgiveness of others, but in the end the REAL FORGIVENESS is in one’s own self.” Ephesians 4:32 reads, “Be kind to one another TENDERHEARTED, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Until we have seen someone’s darkness, we really don’t know who they are. Only until we forgive someone’s darkness, we don’t really know what LOVE is.
Thank You, Lord, for your gift of forgiveness. With Your wisdom and Amazing Grace, I continue to learn how to forgive. 🙂 ❤
Friend, if your heart is burdened by hurt caused by another, close your eyes and seek the Lord’s help to ease the pain. God is good all the time. The choice and the power to make it ALL feel better is within YOU. ❤
