Sitting here in my hotel during my last night in Kazan. The wind is raging outside, as it's done for most of my time here. I went out briefly tonight to grab some food, and on my way back, the wind almost blew me (and my bag full of food from McDonald's DON'T JUDGE) over. ❄ This is a photo of the beautiful 120-year-old bell tower of Epiphany Cathedral on Bauman Street, Kazan's main pedestrian street. It's an impressively tall structure -- at 74 meters, it's visible all the way down the street.
"We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelier way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us. Even while the earth sleeps we travel. We are the seeds of the tenacious plant, and it is in our ripeness and our fullness of heart that we are given to the wind and are scattered." —Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

Fun fact for today! Australia's first biscuit company - Swallow & Ariell Biscuit Factory in Port Melbourne was founded in 1858. It was once one of the biggest biscuit manufacturers in the world, and was also servicing the Aus & US services in World war II. It was bought by Arnotts' in 1964. The building is on the Vic Heritage Register and became a townhouse and apartment development. 📷 @michnicole_
