Every season I try out a few new vegetable varieties in addition to my favorites from years past. This winter I’ve discovered a few new favorites including this Salanova Lettuce that is thriving in our rain gutter planters. Salanova is harvested as a single mature head but is more like baby-leaf lettuce once it’s cut. Salanova has twice the yield, better flavor and texture, and twice the shelf life of traditional baby leaf lettuce, but the best part is that it will grow back after harvest!
