Last night Ben and I did our goals night for 2018. We packed a pen and a pad of paper and walked down to the beach with an old beat up cooler that held a bottle of champagne.
We started writing down our team and individual goals for the year. The goals started off simple and good, pretty straightforward and understandable. But as we kept talking about where we wanted to go in life, that’s when the real deep, hard goals started to surface. You know, the goals you know deep in your heart that you should write down, but scare you to death because you don’t know how to overcome them.
Now, at the moment I can’t quite share what that goal was for me because it is still really raw and personal. But I will say that once I wrote down that goal and spoke it out loud to Ben, I felt like I could at least breath a little lighter. Not that the next 12 months won’t be difficult, but the fact that I don’t have to hold it to myself any longer took a little bit of the weight off my shoulder.
So, have you had your 2018 goal setting night yet? If not, don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time. If you have, can I encourage you to share your goals with at least one person? You’ve got this, friend. 2018 is already a good year.

The cold crisp air (-3), snow on the ground and the sun shining; winter walks don't get much more perfect.
Today we were up in Pitlochry and had a great time. If you want to read about another one of my recent Perthshire walks check out the link in the bio for my Birnam walk post.
My gorgeous sweet bride chelsea is such a natural in front of the camera! This engagement session was so embarrassing and hilarious for me because they told me after we finished that i had been calling him the wrong name the whole time!! They said it was so funny and so they just went with it and we got so many extra laughing photos because of it. Well i guess that can be a new trick for natural laughs🤷♀️🤦🏼♀️ Sorry Noah😂😂😂 wedding coming up at @rancholaslomas with @amykuchta@lvlweddings#ocweddingphotographer#orangecountyweddingphotographer#ashleypaigephoto
