What I am also learning through so-called gender-neutral fashion is that the feminine is undesirable unless you’re a girl, because being feminine as a boy makes you weak. You can’t call something gender-neutral if what you are naming does not represent the full range of the gender spectrum. Fashion bolsters the idea that femininity is inferior to masculinity, that femininity is invalid, and that only masculinity is valuable. I challenge this notion. If jeans can be gender-neutral, why can't skirts be gender-neutral as well? Boys can wear skirts and be masculine, feminine, or neutral. This is the same for girls, or nonbinary people who like skirts. Dresses, skirts, stockings, and heels must be for everyone.
