|| Step away from the Scales || Meet Vicky our co-founder here at @realfitnesspt
Vicky is a prime example of why scales DO NOT MATTER when it comes to weight loss, muscle gain or body fat percentage.
Here’s the story of her dexa scan which is shown above. Left is obviously before scan and 12mths later is on the right.
No tracking food
Too much hiit
Only two strength
LBW - 56.8
BF% - 13.9
Strength training four per wk
The scales will only ever measure your relationship with gravity. What a difference Vicky saw in 12mths of weight training and food tracking. Scales increased but her BODY FAT which is the most important aspect when it comes to our health as we want to decrease the amount of visceral fat around our organs. And that is exactly what happened here in the dexa above.
Hard work pays off and so does taking on board emotionally and mentally the number on the scales.

[ Bump Fitness ]
This little bump can open and close its eyes, is hiccuping, can hear me and the outside world and even turns its head towards sounds, lights and sensations from outside the womb 😍
It really makes you think about the things you expose yourself to, and how it impacts on them both now and for their future.....they are very much involved in every aspect of your daily life. .
Yesterday we chose to do a super low key workout, we put some mellow tunes on, we didn’t bother counting reps or paying attention to the duration of the workout, we just moved in a way that FELT good, and when it didn’t anymore we stopped 👌🏼 .
Fit ball squat to bicep curl, @trxtraining triceps extensions, @xrslide side lunge and pushups and resistance band upright rows....simple, effective, and im sure the bump was smiling 😘✨
Them 140s thought they had me. After incline bench press I went into Flat DB Press. Keep the rep range in between 6-10 Reps for 4 Sets. Started with 90 x 10 100 x 10 125x 10 140 x 10. Now when I got to the 8th Rep with these 140s, my arm was like no, but I said I’m getting 10 REPs with these, so I paused for a second and got them last two reps. I could of just settled for 8 and would have been good, but I knew I had 10 in me, maybe even more if my arm wouldn’t have tried to quit early. Them 140s ain’t no joke.
Ok, so pretty happy with the work these guys have done to get their shoulders more open! It’s not perfect and needs some work to get those handstand holds.
BUT... being being 2 blackbelts and a brown belt in BJJ, years of training means their shoulders and upper backs are TIGHT !!! One of the main reasons we practice handstands is that through the necessary training, we development improved mobility in the shoulders and thoracic and strength in the wrists, elbows, shoulders and core... this in turn can reduce the risk of injuries, and provide a bigger scope for strength development!
Awesome progress guys, so happy. I’ll have to see if I can dig out some old pics for a comparison 👊🏼 @integrated_combat_centre@email@example.com @vt1martialarts#bjj#handstands
