I call this one “The Tantrum of Venus.” The subject, curled on the floor, reminds us of a clam shell. Even the lines of the dress are similar to the lines of a shell. But unlike Botticelli’s The Birth Of Venus, this shell is yet to open. Set not in a field or a forest, but in dark concrete, the atmosphere is much like the tantrum brewing within - dark and dangerous. There will be no chorus of angels when it opens, no sinewy goddess waiting to be robed in silk. Instead, it will open to an angry and snot-stained toddler, demanding goldfish and fruit snacks. Let us bask briefly in the light coming from the background, and hope that it will warm the creature within.
"Was it me that Botticelli imagined?" Brigitte Bardot 👩🏼 😂
To round off my breathtaking week in Florence, an artselfie in front of "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli in Galleria degli Uffizi. Completed in 1486 the painting has become one of the most heralded works of the Renaissance and a lasting symbol of feminine grace and beauty. 🐚 🌊
To say that Florence is magnificent is a massive understatement. A city-size shrine to the Renaissance, the city offers frescoes, paintings, sculptures, churches, palaces, and other monuments from the richest cultural flowering the world has known. You can look at Renaissance art and architecture in books all day long, but until you stand in the shadow or doorway of these places, you can't comprehend the size, beauty and grandeur. These vibes give you truly a feeling of overwhelming awe, happiness and gratitude. Grazie mille Firenze. ❤️🇮🇹 #sandrobotticelli#botticelli#thebirthofvenus#birthofvenus#nascitadivenere#lanascitadivenere#veneredibotticelli#artselfie#jurgenvermaire#historyofart#arthistory#historiadelarte#kunstgeschichte#histoiredelart#storiadellarte
The Venus sea shell was one of the symbols of hope given to me during meditation on our recent #freedomthroughwisdom#retreat 🏝 Seeing it everywhere! 🙏🐚💕 #Repost@stellarfolk
The birth of Venus 🐚🌱
Beloved Lady Master Venus is the great Empress of Love, Beauty and Grace, embodying the consciousness of planet Venus. Venus and Earth were created as twin flame planets, twin stars, and they share a common evolutionary destiny. Goddess of Venus holds the focus of Love for this Solar System and her own celestial alignments and transits are playing a pivotal role in Earth’s ascension. She is greatly assisting in pole shift stabilization and the opening of many portals around the world for the influx of the transforming cosmic light rays. Call to this great Empress of Love and the ruby Fire to bring to you and our planet a greater concentration of Divine Love, Will and Grace of the Mother’s Presence.
* Venus is the one goddess whose name was given to an important planet.
* Venus (Greek: Aphrodite; Babylonian: Ishtar) is the goddess of love and beauty.
* The planet is so named probably because it is the brightest of the planets known to the ancients.
* With a few exceptions, the surface features on Venus are named for female figures.
* This is the planet commonly called the “evening star” or the “morning star” (depending on which side of the sun it happens to be).
* It is considered the brightest and most beautiful object in the heavens next to the sun and moon, and is far brighter than any star.
