The Benefits of Going Barefoot 👣 + #FuckPerfect#BuildStrength (*yes technically I'm wearing socks here but I can't focus on my lift when my feet are cold 😉)
•Part of advocating a Primal lifestyle is teaching the paramount importance for health (& lifting) of going barefoot+ grounding. I've written about this on my wellness page (@mbodiedwellnesscoach). #Barefootlifting has add'l benefits b/c as evolved as a species using the vast spectrum of muscles in our feet to push, pull, swing+throw heavy things around. The synergy of the #mindmuscleconnection is amplified when we #gobarefoot . This activates more #proprioception from the soles of the feet allowing the body to fully integrate the movement into the neurological system. For #compoundlifts as well as the #calisthenics we all wish to master (as well as increase our bad ass factor in 🤛🏼) the ability to fully FEEL the feet is invaluable. Specifically for the deadlift movement which requires conceptually "spreading the floor with your feet" cultivating the kinesthetic awareness of the four corners of the soles touching & especially GRIPPING the floor is 🔑 to pulling more weight.
